Sogenave is a company that distributes food and non-food products across different market segments. Founded in 1973, Sogenave provides a range of services including food equipment, event support, menu management, navigation supply, logistics services, and export operations. The company serves various sectors such as social catering, horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, and Café), retail, wholesale, and export.

Challenge

Sogenave challenged us to implement a B2B e-commerce solution aimed at providing their customers with an efficient way to place orders online, thereby reducing their reliance on traditional ordering methods such as their sales team, phone, and email.

One of the key challenges we faced was accommodating the diverse needs of Sogenave's wide range of customers, each with specific requirements, sales conditions, personalised pricing, and unique business rules.

Additionally, we needed to provide their customers with access to their account balance, the ability to view and download invoices, manage multiple users, and other business-related functionalities.

Solution

We implemented an e-commerce solution based on Umbraco for content management and Umbraco Commerce for the e-commerce features. We also used Microsoft .NET for all custom development and integration with Sogenave's business applications, such as their ERP.

The implemented solution is responsive, allowing customers to place orders and manage their accounts from multiple devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.

This solution enables Sogenave to receive orders from customers, which are automatically integrated with their ERP, automating the order processing while complying with the specific business rules of each client, such as pricing, payment conditions, delivery conditions, and credit limits.

Additionally, customers can directly manage their users, access invoices, and check their account balances without any direct intervention from Sogenave staff.

Result

The implementation of this e-commerce solution has significantly optimised how Sogenave conducts business. Some of the advantages they have experienced from implementing this project:
