The Editory Collection Hotels is a hotel brand under Sonae Capital. This brand was created to reposition Sonae Capital's hotels in the market, with a focus on modern hospitality, local culture, art, and sustainability. The Editory Collection Hotels aims to provide a luxurious and immersive experience for its guests, with a strong emphasis on artistic and aesthetic sensibilities.
The brand includes several hotels such as The Porto Palácio Hotel by The Editory, Aqualuz Hotels by The Editory (Troia, Lagos), The Editory by the Sea (Troia, Comporta), The Editory Artist (Downtown, Porto), The Editory House (Ribeira, Porto), and The Editory Riverside (Santa Apolónia, Lisbon). These hotels are strategically located in key urban centres like Lisbon and Porto, as well as in popular tourist destinations like Troia and Comporta.
Challenge
Sonae aimed to implement a new web portal to centralise information about their hotel portfolio and promote the hotel chain brand while maintaining the distinctiveness of each hotel.
Additionally, Sonae wanted a solution to increase their direct traffic through improved organic positioning on Google and higher conversions with direct online bookings.

Solution
Using Umbraco as the content management platform, we implemented a new web portal for the Sonae hotel chain, The Editory Collection Hotels. We dedicated significant time and effort to the user experience (UX) design and user interface (UI) design.
The web portal unifies all hotels under a single brand while maintaining the distinctiveness of each hotel by creating different “moods” and designs for each one.
Additionally, we designed the web portal to focus on conversion, aiming to increase online bookings. The portal is also SEO-friendly, ensuring that both existing customers can easily find their hotels and potential customers searching for hotels in a specific region or city can discover them.

Result
The new portal met Sonae's requirements and provided several advantages to our client, including:
